Nature's true nomads.

This is Barack (no, not named after the USA president! lol)

He is one of 3 camels to take you out on a 9, 25 or 45 minute ride at Kommetjie, Cape Town.

Did you know
- Camels must drink water everyday. Don't believe the myth that they can go without water for 2 weeks.

- Camels are omnivorous. They can eat almost anything be it vegetation, meat, or bone,-- salty or sweet, a camels stomach knows no limits.

- Camels have 3 eyelids

-All the fat of the camel is in his hump(s)

-The Batrian Camels (2 humps) were thought to be extinct, untill a small population was found in 1957.

Single or Double hump?

Imagine a capital letter "D" lying on its side on the back of a Dromedary camel forming a single hump

Imagine the capital letter "B" on its side on the back of a Bactrian camel forming the double hump.

:)
