Tanzania - Africa

This morning I took my Dad to the airport. This time he’s on his way to Tanzania. What a wonderful life, although he works very hard when he’s there! He’s been to Angola, Liberia, Sierra leone and everytime I wish I could climb in his suitcase and go with! I want to go live with them at the concession in the bush, I reallly do! Since I can remember he’s been working in the diamond industry, but in Tanzania they focus more on gold mining. And NO, he had nothing to do with the blooddiamonds! Have you seen that movie with Leonardo Di Caprio (Trying to speak with a South African accent)? A few of that movie scenes were filmed in Stellenbosch, like 20-30 kilometres from where I live. ANd also in the Waterfront, 30 km's to the otherside! :)

I’ve taken my dad to the airport like a million times and said goodbye like a zillion times before, but I cry E -V-E-R-Y time!!! :( Last year he also left a few days before Father’s Day.

He's flying to DAR ES SALAAM right this moment!

Tanzania is a tourist country. Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, the Serengeti and a beautiful coastline!

I think I partially convinced him to buy me a planeticket to go visit him! Maybe that’s wishful thinking..we’ll have to see if that happens!!! I can just picture me running around in Africa taking pictures of everything and everyone!! I would really want to go to the neighbouring countries too..

Chewy Tuesday

Have you made you own pizza bases? Just try it! It tastes MUCH MUCH better than those you buy in die shop! AND you can get double the pizza base for half the price.



Buy 1kg of ready made dough. Break the dough in 8 equal sized balls. then roll it out on a floured counter/table. let it stand and rise while you wait for the oven to reach 180 Celsius. before you put it in the oven, roll it out again. prick the dough with a fork and bake it for about 3 - 5 minutes. Let it cool , package and freeze. Dont worry about making perfect round pizza bases! who ever said it should be round? it looks much more cosy and homely if its just rolled out roughly!



I made this YUMMY Garlic pita too! A bit of olive oil, lots of garlic and spices. it all you need!

Hi there all!! Its a surprise visit from me as I'm usually not on the internet on weekends!

Winter is starting and we have only had RAIN RAIN RAIN! ;)
and TODAY it's a beautifull sunshine day outside! nice and warm!!
do washing and hang it outside. Go for a walk..Braai, picnic wear a T-shirt! YEAH!
